NOTE:

This project is NOT a convention atmosphere full of master classes, rather sharing in the creative process full of fun!!  It is an exploration of working closely with other schools in the East Bay.  It is to celebrate all levels of dancers helping and supporting each other in the creative process.  They share their voices through “Buddy Share” by giving supportive, constructive choreography feedback and teaching each other part of their works!

Dance Repertory’s Vision Series Dance Festival (see full info on home page) is expanding showcases to more CA cities!!  We invite East Bay high schools and dance studios  to join us for a day of collaborative dance to be presented as a workshop similar to the festival, now in its 18th year!  Hopefully this will lead to a future professional showcase in the East Bay!

We present our most popular Festival features: Buddy System (working closely with other groups) and ChanceDance (presented as a new work featuring all performers pieced together event day).  Participating groups bring 8-8’s of their own contemporary choreography (or a piece they are developing) and we will explore a variety of techniques to create a mini ChanceDance that will inspire imaginative ways for the students to use for their own future creations. We assign "buddies" to spend the day with!

The day's activities culminate in an INFORMAL SHOWOFF to each other and any friends or family who want to observe.  No tickets, we are simply sharing what we did in the day (Mini ChanceDance, etc.) and any choreography in progress the groups want to show to each other on the theater stage.

WE CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE THIS EXPERIENCE!!!

WANNA TELL US SOMETHING?
We would LOVE to hear from you!
